What
The Seido Karate Thornbury dojo is a branch of the World Seido Karate Organisation, which was founded by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura in 1976, and is headquartered in New York City. Opening in 2002, we are run as a not-for-profit organisation, and all of our instructors are volunteers and have up-to-date Working With Children checks. We are a Child Safe organisation, committed to implementing all of the Child Safe Standards set out by the Commission for Children and Young People.
Why
With a philosophy of “Karate for Everyone”, we believe that martial arts should be inclusive, and we welcome beginners of all age and ability to come along and participate in a trial class. Our philosophy stems from the three concentric circles that form the blossom emblem that is the Seido Karate logo—love, respect, and obedience.
